Not only can you enjoy a delicious jam, but also this recipe terribly easy prepare – no pectin is needed! The cooking time is only 10 minutes, then you can finish the old-fashioned tomato jam either in the freezer or using traditional jamming methods.
The ingredients you need
There are only 8 simple and healthy ingredients used to make this classic recipe for tomato jam. And no pectin!
You probably have all of these things in your kitchen right now:
- Ripe tomatoes – The best are Roma or plum
- Brown sugar – for a sweet, deep taste
- Fresh ginger – grated
- Spice – salt, ground cumin, crushed red pepper, garlic powder
How to make the best tomato jam
The first step is prepare ingredients: Cut the tomatoes and remove any loose seeds. Grate fresh ginger.
Next, prepare a medium casserole. Add all ingredients. Yes, everything goes there.
Bring to boil.
Then reduce the heat and simmer 1 – 1 ½ hours, stir regularly so that it does not burn on the bottom.
