Recipe for baked spaghetti cake: A Family dinner with the essence of cozy spaghetti and Meat sauce, baked into a cake. Cut whole pieces and serve!
Nostalgic spaghetti cake
The first time I ever baked a baked spaghetti cake was in 1994. I particularly remember the year because I had just graduated from high school and doing an internship a year before college.
My boss had a really cute family. After work, I would occasionally babysit his children or help his wife, Lynn, around the house.
She was pregnant with her fourth child and tried to prepare a freezer full of meals before the birth to make it easier to feed the family after the baby was born.
One Saturday I spent all day helping her pick freshly picked apples in Gallons of homemade applesauce, sausage and potato casseroles in foil pans and several baked spaghetti patties.
I loved the idea of pressing spaghetti and meat sauce into cake pans so that they can be easily frozen and reheated later.
